Upcoming Author Signing #2: Meet Shay Mitchell!

Anyone who is a fan of the Pretty Little Liars TV show knows who this actress is! Shay Mitchell is known for playing Emily Fields on this TV show. Now she has chosen writing as a new career choice while continuing her acting career. Ms. Mitchell is touring the world to present her debut novel, Bliss. Her novel was co-written with Michaela Blaney. Stop by at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, Illinois on Thursday, October 8th! Event time is at 5 p.m. To order a ticket for this event, purchase Shay Mitchell’s novel from Anderson’s Bookshop, either in person, by phone, or online at www.andersonsbookshop.com. Hurry! This event is most likely going to sell out so get your ticket while you can!

Information about Shay Mitchell’s and Michaela Blaney’s novel, Bliss, provided by Anderson’s Bookshop:

Sophia Marcus, 21, has already mapped out every aspect of her glamorous life as a Hollywood actor on her vision board. But her life right now in Toronto is anything but exciting. Attending fruitless auditions during the day and working at a douche-y club at night, Sophia is starting to feel like she’s going nowhere…slowly.

Demi Michaels, Sophia’s best friend, didn’t go to college after high school. Short of ideas for her own future, she puts her energy into building the perfect relationship with an older man. And when that relationship crashes and burns, Demi is left to pick up the pieces.

Sophia’s friend (and Demi’s frenemy) Leandra Hunting doesn’t give a crap about hard work or a loving relationship. She has other plans for her future. After college graduation, Leandra sets out to travel the world in the yachts, planes and limos of ridiculously wealthy men. Will any of them be able to show her what love really means-if she can take off her Chanel sunglasses long enough to see it?

Set in the exotic, intoxicating worlds of Hollywood, Thailand, and London, “Bliss “paints a relatable portrait of life in your early twenties with equal parts optimism and fear, hope and disappointment, expectation and reality. It’s the Age of Uncertainty when you can count on nothing, but, if you’re lucky enough to have one truly great friend, you can survive just about anything.

Know of any authors coming? Shoot me an email and I’ll happily post it for everyone to see!

P.S.: Most of the book signings I’ll be posting will take place in Illinois since that’s my home, but I’ll still post signings from all over the world! 🙂

Upcoming Author Signings #1: Wednesday, July 29

Author signings are spectacular, in my opinion. Not only do you get to meet the wonderful writer of your favorite novel, but you also get that novel SIGNED! And maybe personalized, depending on the author’s preference.

To make sure everyone is aware, this is where I will post multiple signings I know that are coming up in all states. Unfortunately, I will not be able to post all signings since it’s slightly difficult to keep up with all the known authors on this planet. Which is drastically devastating.

Anyway, the first author signing, or should I say ‘signings’, is being held in Naperville, IL at Anderson’s Bookshop. In case you have not heard of Anderson’s Bookshop, this is an independent bookstore that hosts multiple book signings every month. To meet the author(s) and get your book signed, all you have to do is buy the author’s new book for the signing and bam! you have a ticket for the event. This is a wonderful bookstore, so if you live in Illinois, take the time to stop by! Their website is here.

Now, to the author signings! This author signing is coming up this week on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00pm. The authors included are Amber Lough, Joelle Charbonneau, Erika O’Rourke, and Christa Desir. Amber Lough is the author of The Fire Wish and is here at Anderson’s celebrating the release of the sequel, The Blind Wish. Joelle Charbonneau is the incredible author of The Testing trilogy. Erika O’Rourke wrote the novel, Dissonance, and the sequel, Resonance. And Christa Desire wrote Bleed Like Me. To find out more information about each of the authors and their novels, click here. I’ve only had the pleasure (so far) of reading Joelle Charbonneau’s trilogy, but these other novels are definitely on my TBR list!

**Know of any author signings coming up? Shoot me a quick email and I’ll be more than happy to post about that signing!**

Magic Always Comes At A Price

I don’t know if anyone keeps up with the TV show, Once Upon A Time, but Funko Pop just revealed the release date for SIX of OUAT characters: Emma, Hook, Regina, Snow, Charming, and of course Rumpelstiltskin!! By the way, for those who are unaware of this awesome, magic-bending TV show, OUAT is a twist on Disney characters’ lives and interwoven stories, such as last season brought the sisters of Arendelle to Storybrook, where all of the famous fairy tale stories currently live (the characters, I’m talking about). So if any of you are Disney fans and have never heard of this show, stop what you’re doing and binge watch the current available seasons: 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be released August 18. I’m not even joking: CHECK IT OUT. Such a magical show and all the characters truly steal your heart and even crush it. Haha, get it? Any OUAT fans out there would get that reference!

Anyway, getting to the point of this post. Below are the captivating characters we all love brought to life in a small and significant form! Check them out!

Aren’t they just GORGEOUS?! Just look at them!

And for all those wondering when the official release date is for these magical figurines: It’s October 2015!! At the beginning of October, might I add. Check out Amazon.com for all of them (this is where I preordered my bunch!). If you’re a Prime member, use it because it’s worth it! You can also find them on ToyWiz.com. And, of course, these guys are not free. Magic always comes at a price.

I hope everyone is just as excited as I am! Coming up, I’ll start posting pictures with more Funko Pop figurines, with an added twist to each photo! A twist?! OH NO!!

Blog Release Date

I’ve always wanted to start a blog, one that revolved around two of my favorite things: books and movies. Well, and some other goofy little trinkets which everyone will soon see.

I’m secretly a book nerd. Okay, maybe not. I’m more of a…Not-So-Secret Book Nerd. Kind of like a bookaholic. Which is why I chose the name Confessions of a Not-So-Secret Bookaholic. I’ve decided my voice will no longer be bottled up. I’ve decided that it is finally time to have my voice heard, whether or not people really listen. So this blog will revolve around my nerdy confessions, not just on books, but on the many aspects of life. And movies. And Funko Pop because you can’t be a nerd without Funko Pop. Seriously. They’re so adorable, with their big heads and little bodies. It’s an obsession. A crazy, joyful obsession.

Okay, wow. Uh, moving on from my little rant.

Yet, with my life being so hectic right now–starting a new job in the city and close to starting my third year of college–I’ve decided to push the main release date of my blog to the middle of August. I think it’s best to put all my ducks in a row and figure out time management. However, even though I have decided this, I will post snippets of quotes, Funko Pop, Top Ten, Book Reviews, Movie Reviews, and more, just so everyone gets an idea of what my blog will be focusing on. There will be times where I’ll post just to rant. but then again, who doesn’t?

So I hope you decide to join my journey as I navigate through the Confessions of my Not-So-Secret life! 🙂
